Marvi’s Tears
Our wonderful creatives in the NJArts are developing an entirely new music genre! By working together, East and West are combined to bring Sufi OperaTM to the world. Marvi’s Tears is based on the Pakistani folk story of Marvi, a legendary heroine from the region of Sindh. Sufi OperaTM who models value and leadership for young women. Sufi Opera demands new vocal and composition skills. The mnusic, including the voice combines sounds from different genres of classical music and has been developed by four members of our networks, one of whom is the manager of NJArts. Once believed that east and west exemplified incompatible vocal skills, Saira Peter turns this belief on its head.
Marvi’s Tears, the world’s first Sufi Opera, is currently a work in progress.
We need funding for further development leading to 5 day workshop after which Marvi’s Tears should be ready to pitch before professionals.

Medical Fund
Last year, we launched a fund raising appeal for the surgery needed by a poor destitute mother of a teenage daughter abandoned by her husband after sustaining life changing injuries. While cooking, her gas cannister blew up in her face. She was rushed to hospital where she languished until we stepped in to fund the first urgent surgery she needed to loosen scar tissue around her neck. She is now ready for the next surgery to release her sealed lips so she can eat and speak once more. We still need several thousand £ to pay for this. Meanwhile inflation on medical care is 40%. You can support her by giving to our Medical Fund where her needs are our our top priority.
We also want to pay for key hole surgery for the wife of one of our Rapid Response Team volunteers in Lahore who suffers from gallstones. Her pain can be instantly relieved by this procedure.
Our target is £6000 to cover expenses for those who suffer because they cannot afford medical care.
